Kid friendly fun at the GRalley!
A bike parade with State Representative Harry Osterman will kick off the GRalley.
A bike parade will kick off the GRalley from the Uncommonground parking lot at 1401 West Devon Ave around 11:40am with State Representative Harry Osterman leading the parade.
The Bicycle Ambassadors will join us for the parade and then will set up in the Kid's Corner to talk about bike safety with all children in attendance. Mayor Daley’s Bicycle Ambassadors are a team of bicycle safety and education specialists who have been encouraging Chicagoans to ride their bikes more often and safely since 2001.
Education is a key component in accomplishing the goals of the City of Chicago’s Bike 2015 Plan www.bike2015plan.org which seeks to improve the quality and safety of the bicycling environment in Chicago.
Kid's Corner
The Kid's Corner will run from noon until 5pm with many kid friendly crafts, games and entertainment options. Multiple craft tables will be available, including such fun activities as rock painting, origami, small flower pot decorating and more. Plenty of games like put-put golf, a water target and conservation game, bean bag toss and more will also be available to engage kid's attention. A magician and several other performers will be on hand to keep everyone entertained as well.
Kid's Corner entertainment highlights to look forward to will include:
- Dream Big Performance Studio
- Merry Music Makers
- Hands-on worm composting demo by Vicki Grogan
- Magic show by Sean Masterson
- The Raven Theatre will be putting on an interactive performance, as well as creative face painting
